PROTECTING THE EARTH

Hi viewers ! It has been a long , long, long time since my last post and now I am back with a new one ! :) All this time I have been posting about stuff related to food . This time I have a different topic . As you may have seen from the title , this one is about what we must do to avoid any damage to the earth .

Stephen Hawking has stated that by 2600, the earth will turn into a flaming ball of fire and if we do not take action , the whole of mankind will be extinct.

This is happening because of human activity. Scientists are making plans to leave the planet and find another earth-like planet . I say we should try to prevent this by protecting the earth and doing whatever we can to save our planet because another planet will have the same conditions and soon we will face another threat .

I request all of you viewers to take action and start taking care of nature . We should do the following things to protect the earth :

  • Avoid the use of plastics and start using jute bags which are more eco-friendly
  • Grow more plants and encourage others to grow more plants
  • Segregation  of waste should be followed
  • Plastics should not be thrown around and should go for recycling
Please share this with friends and family and follow the points above . For now, bye !😆

A Movie That Inspires Food...

Hello friends! I am going to tell you about my favourite movie related to food.

The name of the movie is Disney's "Princess and the Frog".

It is about a woman named Tiana. Tiana wanted to have her own restaurant and earn money by working hard, she did not want to think about marriage or finding her love. She was following her dreams. And she kept on doing this untill....... the dazzling smile and playful mind of Prince Naveen taught Tiana to remember to have fun while pursuing those dreams.

As a child, Tiana used to cook some lovely dishes and feed these to her father. When she grew up, Tiana worked in a restaurant but did not own one . But she was sure she will soon have her own restaurant.

When she was a child, when Tiana wished upon a star, her daddy told her that making a wish is fine. But one must work hard to make these wishes come true.

Tiana and her famous Beignets
But, when she grew up she stopped believing in wishing stars. When Tiana 's friend Charlotte gave Tiana lots of money in exchange of some beignets she was very happy! and with the money she bought her restaurant. But things did not happen the way she wanted and she had to keep using her brain!

The first thing I heard while watching the movie was food  and I really love food ! after I watch the movie I get hungry! ( writing the post makes me hungry! ) . If you have not watched the movie , watch it now!
NEW ORLEANS
New Orleans is a wonderful place - my mom would like to go to.
I am going to share about why I want to go to New Orleans. The food in New Orleans is gumbo, beignets etc. I want to taste all these dishes they make and and check this place out.

If you have been there, please tell me about your experience, what you saw and what you ate.

I found this neat recipe for Tiana's Beignets on a blog called This Mama Cooks ... I will be trying this out soon!

Another film (series) that I am crazy about is the Harry Potter films... and there's more yummy food there that I would like to taste someday... will talk about it another day. Bye for now...

Journey of our Food

Hello! I will share what I know about our food.

It is about how food reaches our cities.

It also shows the gratitude I have for the farmers who give us this wonderful gift of food.

Farmers start with planting crops such as, paddy, wheat, jowar, millet etc. Then they wait for rains and take care of their crops. Once the crops ripen, the farmers harvest it and load it on a truck. Then the truck takes the crops and gives these crops to different companies and these companies make ready to eat products like: Cornflakes, atta, rice etc...These products are then delivered to different stores and when we go shopping with our mums we buy these items, cook and eat it.

Now that I know all this, before I sit to eat, I will say a little prayer of thanks to the farmers who grow the food that little children like me eat.

We should not take our food for granted... and eat everything that is on our plate... (my mum is looking happy).

Bye... until the next post!

This is me, when I was really small,  holding harvest from our kitchen garden

Pani Puri or Gol Gappa

Hey guys! I am going to tell you about how I made this tasty recipe! A yummy Indian street food called Gol Gappa.

Gol Gappa is made like this, we went and bought ready made Puri (for Gol Gappa) and Gol Gappa masala from MDH (you can use a masala of any brand). Then mum made tamarind/imli chutney by soaking tamarind in 1 cup of water and then boiling it with jaggery, chaat masala and cumin powder.

After that she made the pani for the gol gappa by mixing 2 spoons of the masala into 2 cups of water, you can also follow the instructions on the packet. She kept this in a seperate bowl. She also cooked some green moong dal and boiled potatoes.

I chopped the boiled potatoes and kept them in a separate bowl (small).

Then I made a hole in the puri and filled with some moong dal, chopped potatoes, tamarind chutney, and ...the pani.

Take a plate so that you don't spill andddd........GRAB A BIG BITE!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to my Blog!!

I am Nayantara. I am 11 years old and I love cooking. I feel very excited each time I make a dish. Why? because I am wondering how it will taste?

The first time I cooked was when I made Chocolate Sparkles! I felt super excited!!!

I am a vegetarian. I love eating food. I am a foodie and I am a fan of my mother's cooking. She makes awesome food! I want to be just like her when I grow up, her recipes will always be on my mind.

In third grade, at school, ma'am said "food gives us energy" and that's true. Once I eat I start jumping sometimes! My fuel is food. Just like an i pad, food is my battery and I get very energetic.

Come join me on my kitchen escapades!!!
