Journey of our Food

Hello! I will share what I know about our food.

It is about how food reaches our cities.

It also shows the gratitude I have for the farmers who give us this wonderful gift of food.

Farmers start with planting crops such as, paddy, wheat, jowar, millet etc. Then they wait for rains and take care of their crops. Once the crops ripen, the farmers harvest it and load it on a truck. Then the truck takes the crops and gives these crops to different companies and these companies make ready to eat products like: Cornflakes, atta, rice etc...These products are then delivered to different stores and when we go shopping with our mums we buy these items, cook and eat it.

Now that I know all this, before I sit to eat, I will say a little prayer of thanks to the farmers who grow the food that little children like me eat.

We should not take our food for granted... and eat everything that is on our plate... (my mum is looking happy).

Bye... until the next post!

This is me, when I was really small,  holding harvest from our kitchen garden

Pani Puri or Gol Gappa

Hey guys! I am going to tell you about how I made this tasty recipe! A yummy Indian street food called Gol Gappa.

Gol Gappa is made like this, we went and bought ready made Puri (for Gol Gappa) and Gol Gappa masala from MDH (you can use a masala of any brand). Then mum made tamarind/imli chutney by soaking tamarind in 1 cup of water and then boiling it with jaggery, chaat masala and cumin powder.

After that she made the pani for the gol gappa by mixing 2 spoons of the masala into 2 cups of water, you can also follow the instructions on the packet. She kept this in a seperate bowl. She also cooked some green moong dal and boiled potatoes.

I chopped the boiled potatoes and kept them in a separate bowl (small).

Then I made a hole in the puri and filled with some moong dal, chopped potatoes, tamarind chutney, and ...the pani.

Take a plate so that you don't spill andddd........GRAB A BIG BITE!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to my Blog!!

I am Nayantara. I am 11 years old and I love cooking. I feel very excited each time I make a dish. Why? because I am wondering how it will taste?

The first time I cooked was when I made Chocolate Sparkles! I felt super excited!!!

I am a vegetarian. I love eating food. I am a foodie and I am a fan of my mother's cooking. She makes awesome food! I want to be just like her when I grow up, her recipes will always be on my mind.

In third grade, at school, ma'am said "food gives us energy" and that's true. Once I eat I start jumping sometimes! My fuel is food. Just like an i pad, food is my battery and I get very energetic.

Come join me on my kitchen escapades!!!
